HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) Airports Division advises motorists of scheduled closures of the Airport onramp to the H-1 Freeway and the through lane to Aolele Street/Paiea Street from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2018 and Thursday, March 29, 2018.

The full lane closure is needed to remove an existing overhead sign structure located on Aolele Street and will take place between 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. to reduce impact to the travelling public. During the closure, the Airport onramp to the H-1 Freeway and the through lane to Aolele Street/Paiea Street will be closed and motorists will be directed to Nimitz Highway as an alternate route. Travelers exiting the parking pay booths on the ground level will be detoured to Nimitz Highway via Rodgers Boulevard or Aolele Street. The same full lane closure is scheduled on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m., to install the new sign structure. All work is weather permitting.

Message boards will be placed throughout the area to alert motorists of the lane closure and detour. Passengers are advised to allow extra time if traveling during the closure time periods.
