HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) alerts Oahu motorists that a single lane closure will occur on Kamehameha Highway between Ka Uka Boulevard and Lanikuhana Avenue next week from Monday, Jan. 7, 2019 through Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 and the following week from Monday, Jan. 14, 2019 through Friday, Jan. 18, 2019. Traffic will be contraflowed through the open lane from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., daily.

Next week the contractor will work on the bridge expansion joints. Two additional drains on the bridge deck will be installed the following week. During closure hours, motorists may use the H-2 Freeway as an alternate route.

Updates will be sent out via our Twitter (@DOTHawaii) and Facebook (@HawaiiDepartmentOfTransportation) pages and posted to the “Roadwork” section of HDOT’s website, which can be found here.

HDOT advises motorists to allow for extra travel time to get to their destinations and check traffic apps like GoAkamai.org to plan their commutes.
