HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) reminds motorists that beginning on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, the Pali Highway access hours will be extended to the following:

Sundays through Fridays (closed on Saturday and State Holidays).
Honolulu-bound AM contraflow: 5 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Kailua/Kaneohe bound PM access: 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Emergency repairs to Pali Highway remain on schedule to allow for access in both directions beginning Sept. 1, 2019. Access on and after September 1 will be Sundays through Fridays from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Nightwork will be necessary through November and daytime single lane closures will be scheduled as needed to complete the additional slope protection work and Pali Highway improvements.

HDOT advises motorists to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time to get to their destinations. Motorists may find a list of upcoming roadwork on state roadways on the HDOT website at https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/
