Workshop for women seeking Airport Fire Fighting Careers

Posted on Dec 31, 2015 in Main, News

The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) is partnering with the Department of Human Resources Development (DHRD) to conduct “Women in Airport Fire Service” workshops. The workshops will be held on various Neighbor Islands during the month of January. The workshops are free and are expected to last approximately 90 minutes.

The workshop is part of a recruitment initiative designed to increase awareness of Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) careers for women. Topics will include how to prepare and submit an online application, ARFF career opportunities, and the firehouse culture from a woman’s perspective. Women are encouraged to learn more about a career with ARFF by registering for one of the sessions.
