HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (DOT) advises Oahu motorists of a full closure of the Pali Highway in the Kailua bound direction between Waokanaka Street and Kamehameha Highway on Saturday, February 1, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., for slope stabilization work.

Due to the recent rock slides on the Pali Highway, the main concern of the Department of Transportation is to keep the roads safe for motorists to travel. Crews will be trimming trees and removing boulders along the Kailua bound lanes.

Electronic message boards will be in place to warn motorists of the upcoming road work. Motorists are advised to use Likelike Highway or the H-3 Freeway as alternate routes. Road work is weather permitting.
