Traffic Advisory: Time Change for the H-1 Freeway Rehabilitation Project

Posted on Feb 7, 2014 in Highways News, Main, News

HONOLULU — The state Department of Transportation (DOT) advises Oahu motorists of a time change for the H-1 Rehabilitation project nightly lane closures, from Likelike Highway to the vicinity of Ward Avenue.  The new work hours will be from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday nights through Friday mornings, beginning on Monday, February 10. DOT will be keeping the lanes closed an extra 30 minutes nightly to maximize work time in order to stay on schedule. The completion date is this summer.

The H-1 Rehabilitation project will upgrade the freeway asphalt to provide a smooth riding surface, install upgraded lighting, improve drainage, and install glare screens along the median.

The DOT advises drivers in both directions to use Vineyard Boulevard as an alternate route.  For more information, check the project website at H1rehab.com or #H1rehab.
