HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists that the H-1 Freeway westbound HOV left lane (a.k.a. the “Diamond Lane”) is open for use by all vehicles to help alleviate traffic due to an ongoing H-1 traffic fatality investigation in the Pearl City area.

H-1 westbound right shoulder lanes are also open for use in the following areas:

  • the Radford Drive Overpass and the Kaneohe/Honolulu Off-Ramp (Exit 13B)
  • the Kaonohi Street Overpass to the Waimalu/Pearl City Off-Ramp (Exit 10)

The ongoing investigation currently has two H-1 westbound right lanes closed between the Waimalu/Pearl City Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) and is expected to continue into the evening hours.
