HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation advises Oahu motorists of nighttime full road closures of Kamehameha Highway in both directions between Waipio Uka Street and Lanikuhana Avenue, beginning Sunday night, July 26, through Friday morning, July 31, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., nightly, for pavement resurfacing, striping installations, guardrail repairs, and drainage adjustments. Roadwork will be scheduled Sunday nights through Friday mornings, weekly, with an anticipated completion by the end of October, weather permitting.
Limited access will be allowed to local residents and business traffic only. Contractor Grace Pacific has notified all emergency services and TheBus that Kamehameha Highway will be completely closed to all vehicles during these hours.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead, expect traffic delays and to use the H-2 Freeway as an alternate route.
