Closure at the intersection of Queen Kaahumanu Highway and Hina Lani Street on Thursday night, July 19

KAILUA-KONA – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) notifies the public that motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians will not be allowed to access Hina Lani Street from Queen Kaahumanu Highway from 8:30 p.m. on Thursday night, July 19, 2018, through 6 a.m. on Friday morning, July 20, 2018, for the Queen Kaahumanu Highway Phase 2 Widening project. Northbound and southbound traffic on Queen Kaahumanu Highway will be allowed through the intersection.

Access to Hina Lani Street will be provided via Ane Keohokalole Highway and Kealakehe Parkway as the contractor paves the Hina Lani Street connection to Queen Kaahumanu Highway from Kanalani Street.

Message boards have been posted throughout the area to warn motorists of the closure. Special duty police officers will be on site to assist with traffic control and safety procedures. Emergency vehicles and first responders have been notified of the closure and will be allowed through the work zone.
