H-1 Freeway Nighttime Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists of upcoming weeknight lane closures on the H-1 Freeway scheduled from Sunday night, November 23, through Wednesday morning, November 26, at the following locations and times.

WESTBOUND

Sunday night, November 23, to Monday morning, November 24.

Full westbound closures from the Houghtailing Street Off-Ramp (Exit 20B) to the Middle Street Overpass from 8 p.m. through 5 a.m., for remedial pavement resurfacing.

Westbound H-1 traffic will be detoured to the Houghtailing Street Off-Ramp (Exit 20B). Traffic can turn right to N. School Street or left to N. King St. as alternate routes and can re-enter the H-201 westbound at the Middle Street On-Ramp. H-1 motorists wishing to access the Airport Viaduct are advised to use School Street, continue on Middle Street over the freeway, to the Airport Viaduct on-ramp at the Kamehameha Highway intersection.

H1-Kalihi-Full-Night-Closures-WB-Detours-Sunday

Monday night, November 24, to Tuesday morning, November 25.

Full westbound closures from the Vineyard Boulevard Off-Ramp (Exit 22) and the School Street On-Ramp from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m., for remedial pavement resurfacing. Click here for a detour map.

1) Westbound H-1 traffic will be detoured to the Vineyard Boulevard Off-Ramp (Exit 22). Traffic can continue on Vineyard Boulevard to the next available on-ramps at School Street or Halona Street.

2) The westbound H-1 Pali Highway Off-Ramp (Exit 21B) will be closed. Pali Highway-bound motorists should exit at Vineyard Boulevard and turn right onto Pali Highway northbound.

3) The westbound H-1 on-ramp from Punchbowl Street will be closed. Motorists should use Vineyard Boulevard to the next available H-1 on-ramps at School Street or Halona Street.

EASTBOUND

Monday night, November 24, through Wednesday morning, November 26

Multiple lane closures in the eastbound direction between the Pali Highway Overpass and the King St. Off-Ramp (Exit 25A) from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., nightly, for pavement marking installations. At least one lane will remain open at all times. All entrance and exit ramps will remain open.

All roadwork above is weather-permitting. Should nighttime rains force delays, revised schedule details will be made public as soon as possible.
