HDOT Highway Division announces pilot program with the Department of Human Resources Development to accelerate hiring process

Wiki Wiki Hire Pilot allows for a streamlined recruiting process for eligible Civil Engineers and Engineer-in-Training candidates.

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) Highways Division is pleased to announce the beginning of the Wiki Wiki Hire Pilot with the State Department of Human Resources Development (DHRD). The pilot program, authorized by Hawaii Revised Statutes §76-22.5 and §78-3.5, allows HDOT Highways accelerated access to lists of eligible civil service candidates for the Civil Engineer and Engineer-in-Training classes and allows eligible applicants to contact HDOT directly to schedule interviews.

“We are grateful to have received approval from DHRD to participate in the Wiki Wiki Hire process,” said Hawaii Department of Transportation Deputy Director for Highways Ed Sniffen. “We’re excited to be able to use the Wiki Wiki Hire process to fill our engineering vacancies and are committed to using these available resources to get qualified workers into positions within one to two weeks.”

To be eligible for Wiki Wiki Hire, applicants must meet the minimum qualification requirements and public employment standards of the advertised position. Eligible applicants must be an active candidate on the eligible register to be interviewed and considered for an appointment. Candidates who qualify for Wiki Wiki Hire will receive a Notice of Examination Results and Eligibility along with a list of Associate Recruiters who will be able to schedule an interview within a one to five-day period.
