Lane Closures for Kalanianaole Highway Resurfacing in Hawaii Kai Sept. 15 – 19

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists of lane closures on Kalanianaole Highway in the eastbound direction, between Kuliouou Road and Keahole Street on Monday, September 15, through Friday, September 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for the Kalanaianaole Highway Resurfacing Project.

During this time, left turns will not be allowed at Kawaihae Street, Hawaii Kai Drive and Keahole Street, for safety purposes and traffic flow. See below for more info:

  • No left turn allowed from Kalanianaole Highway onto Kawaihae Street and Hawaii Kai Drive. Motorists wishing to access Hawaii Kai Drive are advised to take Keahole Street as an alternate route.
  • No left turns from Kawaihae Street, Hawaii Kai Drive and Keahole Streetonto Kalanianaole Highway. Hawaii Kai motorists wishing to head eastbound towards Hanauma Bay are advised to take Lunalilo Home Road as an alternate route.

Eastbound traffic on Kalanianaole Highway may be contraflowed using one westbound lane and two lanes will remain open in both directions at all times.
