Honolulu International Airport runway to temporarily close for maintenance
Posted on Jan 11, 2016 in Main, NewsHONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) will temporarily close Runway 4R-22L for airfield maintenance work at the Honolulu International Airport for two nights this week. During the closure, flights will be redirected to other operational runways which will alter the flight paths. This may increase air traffic noise over the Ewa Plains and Downtown Honolulu communities during the closure hours.
Construction will occur Wednesday night, Jan. 13, and Thursday night, Jan. 14, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., nightly. Construction is weather permitting.
The HDOT appreciates residents’ patience and understanding as we work to improve the condition of the Honolulu International Airport’s runways.
