Lane and ramp closures on eastbound Kalanianaole Highway continue Sunday night, June 17

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists of lane and ramp closures on eastbound Kalanianaole Highway between the H-1 Freeway and West Hind Drive during the overnight hours of 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. from Sunday night, June 17, 2018 through Friday morning, June 22, 2018 for pavement reconstruction and resurfacing work as part of the Kalanianaole Highway Resurfacing project.

Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights
Two right lanes will be closed from Ainakoa Avenue to West Hind Drive. A contraflow will be set up in the westbound lanes.

Monday night
Right lane closure between the H-1 Freeway and Ainakoa Avenue and a closure of the Waialae Avenue onramp to Kalanianaole Highway. Motorists may enter Kalanianaole Highway via Kilauea Avenue, Malia Street, and Ainakoa Avenue. See detour map below.

Tuesday night
Two left lanes closed between the H-1 Freeway and Ainakoa Avenue.

Electronic message boards will be posted to warn motorists of the closures. Special Duty Police Officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control.

HDOT advises motorists to allow for extra travel time and to check traffic apps before heading to their destinations. Roadwork is weather permitting.
