Nightly roadwork scheduled in Salt Lake, Aiea, Halawa, and Ewa Beach for crack seal repair work
Posted on Jan 14, 2020 in Main, NewsHONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) notifies Oahu motorists of nightly roving closures beginning Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020 for crack seal repair work on Puuloa Road, Jarrett White Road, Kahuapaani Street, Halawa Heights Road, Ulune Street, and Fort Weaver Road.
The roving closures will move along the roadways mentioned as crews apply sealant as a preservation technique to prevent water from entering through cracks and further damaging the road.
The roadwork schedule is as follows:
Puuloa Road/Jarrett White Road – Tuesday, Jan. 21, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Crews will work on Puuloa Road and Jarrett White Road between Nimitz Highway and the Tripler Army Medical Center.
Kahuapaani Street/Halawa Heights Road – Wednesday, Jan. 22 and Thursday, Jan. 23, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Crews will work on Kahuapaani Street between Salt Lake Boulevard and the H-201 Moanalua Freeway Underpass and on Halawa Heights Road between Ulune Street to Fernridge Place.
*FULL CLOSURE* Ulune Street Onramps to Westbound H-201/H-1 – Friday, Jan. 24, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Crews will fully close the onramps to the westbound H-201/H-1 Freeway from Ulune Street.
Motorists are advised to continue west on Ulune Street, take a left at Kaimakani Street, a right onto Moanalua Road and may enter the westbound H-1 Freeway at the Waiau Interchange.
Fort Weaver Road – Monday, Jan. 27 and Tuesday, Jan. 28, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Crews will work on Fort Weaver Road between Renton Road and Popoi Place.
During the work at least one lane in each direction will remain open to motorists with temporary stoppages, except for the noted full closure of the Ulune Street onramps.
Electronic message boards will be posted to notify motorists of the closures and detours. Special Duty Police Officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control and safety procedures. Emergency vehicles, first responders, and TheBus have been notified of the full closure and will be allowed through the work zone.
