Waimea Canyon Drive between Ma’ule and Kōke’e Road to close daily for resurfacing

LĪHUʻE, Hawai‘i – The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) notifies highway users of the daily closure of Waimea Canyon Drive between Maʻule Road and Kōkeʻe Road weekdays from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. for full depth reconstruction and resurfacing. The first closure will begin Monday, June 22 17. Anticipated completion of this section is Monday, August 17.

 

Waimea Canyon Drive will be open after each shift from 11:30 p.m. to 8 a.m., as well as on weekends and holidays. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the closure. The detour to get up to Kōkeʻe State Park will be Kōkeʻe Road in Kekaha.
