Kauai lane closures scheduled for the week of Sept. 14 – Sept. 20

— KAUMUALII HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

1) HANAPEPE (24-HOUR CLOSURE)

The Hanapepe River Bridge on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) between Puolo Road and Iona Road will be closed, and traffic will be shifted to the adjacent temporary bridge over a twenty-four-hour period, seven days a week. Speed limit is reduced to 25 mph.

 

2) KOLOA

Lane closure and shifts on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) in the northbound direction between Omao Road and Maluhia Road on Sunday, Sept. 15, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., for tree trimming.

 

— KUHIO HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

1) HANALEI

Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) at Mile Marker 1 (before the Hanalei Bridge) on Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for slope stabilization work. Traffic will be alternated in the remaining open lane.

 

2) HANALEI
Alternating lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) in both directions between Aku Road and Ohiki Road on Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

 

3) LIHUE
Lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between Rice Street and Ehiku Street on Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for utility installations.

 

4) PRINCEVILLE
Alternating lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in both directions between Kapaka Street and Anini Vista Drive on Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for landscaping work. Traffic will be contraflowed.

 

5) WAINIHA (NIGHT WORK)

Closure of Kuhio Highway (Route 560) in both directions at Waikoko Bridge at mile marker 4.2 on Wednesday night, Sept. 18, through Thursday morning, Sept. 19, from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., for bridge work. There will be no vehicular access to the highway. Pedestrian access, Park and Ride facilities, and a shuttle will be provided for residents and authorized Transient Vacation Rental guests.

 

— KAPAA BYPASS ROAD —

1) KAPAA

Improvement work scheduled on Kapaa Bypass Road in both directions in the vicinity of Olohena Road, on Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20, for road improvements. No lanes will be closed but there will be an increase in activity around the area.
