Pali Highway Kailua-bound will be open during the H-3 Freeway closure hours

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists that both lanes of the H-3 Freeway in the Kaneohe-bound direction between the Halawa Interchange and the Halekou Interchange will be closed from 7 p.m. on Saturday night, March 2, 2019 through 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, March 3, 2019., for road maintenance in the Harano Tunnel. The H-3 Freeway Halawa-bound lanes will remain open.

The Pali Highway in the Kailua-bound direction will be open and accessible during the H-3 Freeway closure hours. No slope stabilization work will take place during the hours the highway is open to the public.

The Likelike Highway is also open as an alternate route. Motorists are encouraged to allow for extra travel time and check the GoAkamai.org website or app to view the latest traffic conditions on the Koolau routes before getting on the road.

Electronic message boards will be displayed to inform motorists of the H-3 Freeway closure. Emergency vehicles and TheBus have been notified. Roadwork is weather permitting.
