Final Phase of H-1 Freeway Rehab Requires Full Nighttime Closures

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) is pleased to announce that the end is sight for the completion of the $42 million H1 Freeway Rehabilitation Project, which is on schedule for a July 2014 finish.  In order to facilitate the timely completion, and as is allowed by contract, full nighttime lane closures will resume starting this Sunday night, April 20, at 8 p.m. Full closure dates and times are Sunday nights through Friday mornings from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m., nightly, for the duration of the project. Changes in State Identification Card and Driver’s License Application Process

HONOLULU – Beginning May 1, 2014, the cost of a state identification card and the documents required to obtain a driver’s license will change. State ID’s will cost $32.00 in Kauai County and $40.00 in Honolulu, Maui and Hawaii counties. The state ID is good for 8 years, and a duplicate will cost $7 in Kauai County and $6 in Honolulu, Maui and Hawaii counties. H-1 Freeway Airport Viaduct Deck Repair Project Begins Saturday

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT), Highways Division, continues its goal of resurfacing and improving the state’s major highway corridors.  A $15.6 million project to repair damaged sections of the H-1 Freeway Airport Viaduct begins this Saturday, April 5, 2014.  Approximately 94,000 square feet of concrete deck will be replaced by removing weakened portions using high pressure water blasting and then placing fast-setting concrete to complete the repair.  After all repairs are done, a concrete sealer and/or concrete overlay will be applied to preserve and...

HONOLULU — The state Department of Transportation advises Honolulu and Ewa residents of an expected increase in aircraft traffic over these areas due to airfield maintenance work at the Honolulu International Airport. Hilo International Airport to Install New Speed Bumps to Address Speeding Concerns
