Public Informational Meeting Scheduled For Pali Highway Improvements Project
Posted on Mar 13, 2015 in Highways News, Main, NewsHONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) will hold a public meeting to discuss an upcoming Pali Highway Improvements project from Vineyard Boulevard to Kamehameha Highway. The meeting will include the scope of work and a consultation with the community regarding Section 106 under the National Historic Preservation Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, Chapter 343, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and the application for a Noise Variance Permit with the state Department of Health to perform construction work during overnight hours between Waokanaka Street and Kamehemeha Highway. The meeting is scheduled at the following location and time.

If approved, the Noise Variance Permit will allow for nighttime and weekend work which is anticipated to minimize construction duration and to alleviate construction-related traffic during daytime hours. The meeting will include a presentation of the proposed project and the opportunity to ask HDOT representatives questions.
Project improvements will include resurfacing, reconstruction of weak pavement, repairs to sidewalks, the adjustment of manhole frames and covers, and the installation of new highway lighting, guardrails, bridge rails, signs, and pavement markings.
