Full closure of the eastbound Waipahu offramp (Exit 5) from northbound Fort Weaver Road for resurfacing work on July 19
Posted on Jul 15, 2020 in Highways News, Main, NewsHONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) informs Oahu motorists of a full closure of the eastbound Waipahu offramp (Exit 5) from Fort Weaver Road in the northbound direction on Sunday night, July 19, 2020, through Monday morning, July 20, 2020, from 7 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., for resurfacing and cold planning work. Motorists are notified that roadwork is also permitted to occur on Monday night, July 20, 2020, through Wednesday morning, July 22, 2020, as a contingency in case of wet weather conditions.
During closure hours, motorists wanting to access eastbound Farrington Highway will be directed to continue northbound on Fort Weaver Road and turn right onto Honowai Street, then turn right onto Hene Street, turn left onto Waipahu Street, turn right onto Leoku Street and turn left onto Farrington Highway to continue traveling eastbound. Message boards will be posted in the area to warn motorists of the closure and special duty police officers will be onsite to assist with traffic control. HDOT advises the public to drive safely and allow for extra travel time to get to their destination.
