HONOLULU — The state Department of Transportation advises Oahu residents of an expected increase in aircraft traffic east of the airport due to airfield maintenance work at the Honolulu International Airport.

Runway 8R/26L (a.k.a. Reef Runway) will be closed for airfield maintenance work on Tuesday night, February 5, through the following Tuesday, February 12, from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m., nightly. During this time, flight patterns will be modified, resulting in increased air traffic over the Kalihi and Downtown Honolulu areas.
