HONOLULU — The state Department of Transportation advises Oahu motorists that the H-3 Freeway will be closed in the westbound (Honolulu-bound) direction between the Kamehameha Highway off-ramp (Exit 11), at the Halekou Interchange, and the Halawa Interchange from 7 p.m. on Saturday night, May 11, to 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, May 12, for tunnel cleaning work.

Electronic message boards will be displayed throughout the week to notify motorists of the closures.  Only City and County buses and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the closure.  Honolulu-bound motorists are advised to use alternate routes such as Pali Highway and Likelike Highway and to allow for extra travel time.  Roadwork is weather-permitting.
