Kaneohe Bay Drive Rehabilitation Project begins Tuesday, October 22

HONOLULU — The state Department of Transportation advises Oahu motorists that the Kaneohe Bay Drive Rehabilitation Project will begin on Tuesday, October 22.  The project will include resurfacing, roadway reconstruction, shoulder widening, utility maintenance and installations of guardrails, pavement marking and signage over a two-mile stretch between Kamehameha Highway and Nanamoana Street.  The work will cost approximately $4.2 million in state funds and is anticipated to be complete in August of 2014.

Construction will begin with single lane closures in both directions on Tuesday, October 22, through Friday, October 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily.  Work will be scheduled weekly on Mondays through Fridays at those hours.

Motorists are advised to anticipate delays and use caution while driving through this area.
