Three Nights of H-1 Freeway Partial Closures Next Week

HONOLULU – The state Department of Transportation advises Oahu motorists of partial closures on the H-1 Freeway in both directions from Middle Street to the Ward Avenue Overpass on Monday night, August 18, through Wednesday morning, August 20 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly, for inspections, surveys and electrical work on various HDOT projects.

Westbound ramp closures associated with this road work include the School Street On and Off-Ramps (Exit 21A). Eastbound ramp closures associated with this road work include the mauka and makai Kalihi Street (Likelike Highway) On-Ramps (Exit 20A) and the Vineyard Off-Ramp (Exit 22).

In addition, the DOT advises motorists of a single lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in both directions from Middle Street to the Punchbowl Street Off-Ramp (Exit 21B) on Monday night, August 18, through Thursday morning, August 21 from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly, for inspections and surveys. This work includes wrap-up work for the H1 Freeway Rehab project and other maintenance work.

The DOT urges drivers to allow for extra travel time, to adhere to reduced speed limits, and to drive safely through the work zone area.
