HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists of full road closures of Kamehameha Highway beginning on Sunday night, October 12, in both directions from Ka Uka Boulevard to Lanikuhana Avenue. Full nighttime closures will be scheduled on Sunday nights through Friday mornings, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., nightly, for road reconstruction, resurfacing and installation of pavement striping and markers. Roadwork is weather permitting.

In addition, Daytime single lane closures will continue on Kamehameha Highway in both directions between Lanikuhana Avenue and Waihau Street, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for guardrail, sidewalk/curb, and bus pad work.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes such as Meheula Parkway and Ka Uka Boulevard to the H-2 Freeway. Residents of Kipapa Gulch will be able to access the area through the project site as needed. Electronic message boards are located near Ka Uka Boulevard and Lanikuhana Avenue with upcoming work schedules.

The HDOT appreciates motorists’ patience as we work to resurface Oahu’s main corridors. Lane closure information will be available on the HDOT website at hidot.hawaii.gov, and will be released through our social media channels on Facebook and Twitter.
