H-1 Freeway Nighttime Closures In Kalihi Area Planned For Remedial Construction
Posted on Nov 7, 2014 in Highways News, NewsHONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists of full and partial weeknight closures of the H-1 Freeway scheduled from Wednesday night, November 12, through Wednesday morning, November 26, for remedial pavement resurfacing in the Kalihi area. The closures will be scheduled on Sunday nights through Friday mornings as follows:
EASTBOUND (Nov. 12-14, 16-19)
Full closures in the eastbound direction from the H-201 Moanalua Freeway Fort Shafter/King Street off-ramp to the Kalihi Street overpass on Wednesday night, November 12, through Friday morning, November 14, and on Sunday night, November 16, through Wednesday morning, November 19, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly.
Eastbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway traffic will be detoured to the King Street exit. H-1 Freeway Airport Viaduct traffic will be detoured to the Middle Street/Dillingham Blvd off-ramp (Exit 18B). Traffic can re-enter the H-1 eastbound at the Kalihi Street on-ramp near Farrington High School. See detour map below.
WESTBOUND (Nov. 19-21, 23-26)
Full and partial closures in the westbound direction from the Kalihi Street Overpass to the Middle Street Overpass on Wednesday night, November 19, through Friday morning, November 21, and on Sunday night, November 23, through Wednesday morning, November 26, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly.
Westbound H-1 traffic will be detoured to the Likelike Highway off-ramp (Exit 20A). Traffic should turn left onto School Street and can re-enter the H-201 westbound at the Middle Street on-ramp. H-1 motorists wishing to access the Airport Viaduct are advised to turn left onto School Street, continue on Middle Street over the freeway, to the Airport Viaduct on-ramp at the Kamehameha Highway intersection. All pavement resurfacing is weather-permitting. Should nighttime rains force delays, revised schedule details will be made public as soon as possible.
