HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists of multiple lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the H-1/H-2 Split from 11 p.m., Saturday night, November 15, through 4 a.m., Monday morning, November 17, for deck widening and concrete pours.

Three right lanes will be closed starting at 11 p.m. on Saturday night, November 15, through noon on Sunday, November 16. The lane closure will then be reduced to two right lanes from noon on Sunday, November 16, through 4 a.m., Monday morning, November 17.

On Sunday afternoon through Monday morning, the majority of crew personnel and equipment will vacate the work site, but two right lanes will remain closed as the concrete cures, hardens and strengthens.

Weekend lane closures will allow for deck widening, concrete pours and support beam installations as part of the H-1 Pearl City Viaduct Deck Widening and Repair project. Motorists are advised to drive slowly through the area to provide a safe work zone for the construction crews as well as minimizing the vibrational effects on the concrete during the curing process.

Westbound motorists are advised to expect delays and to use alternate routes such as Kamehameha Highway and Moanalua Road. Follow HDOT on social media and the Pearl City Viaduct Deck Widening and Repair project website for traffic and road work updates #WZAM #hitraffic.
