HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists of full weeknight closures of the H-1 Freeway scheduled from Monday night, November 17, through Friday morning, November 21, for remedial pavement resurfacing in the Kalihi area.

Full closures in the eastbound direction from the H-201 Moanalua Freeway Fort Shafter/King Street off-ramp to the Kalihi Street overpass on Monday night, November 17, through Tuesday morning, November 18, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Eastbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway traffic will be detoured to the King Street exit. H-1 Freeway Airport Viaduct traffic will be detoured to the Middle Street/Dillingham Blvd off-ramp (Exit 18B). Traffic can re-enter the H-1 eastbound at the Kalihi Street on-ramp near Farrington High School.

Full closures in the westbound direction from the Houghtailing Street Off-Ramp (Exit 20B) to the Middle Street Overpass on Tuesday night, November 18, through Friday morning, November 21, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly.

Westbound H-1 traffic will be detoured to the Houghtailing Street Off-Ramp (Exit 20B). Traffic can turn right to N. School Street or left to N. King St. as alternate routes and can re-enter the H-201 westbound at the Middle Street On-Ramp. H-1 motorists wishing to access the Airport Viaduct are advised to use School Street, continue on Middle Street over the freeway, to the Airport Viaduct on-ramp at the Kamehameha Highway intersection. See detour map below.

All pavement resurfacing is weather-permitting. Should nighttime rains force delays, revised schedule details will be made public as soon as possible.
