Public Informational Meeting Scheduled For Replacement Of Temporary Wainiha Bridges
Posted on Dec 2, 2014 in Highways News, NewsLIHUE – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration, Central Federal Lands Highway Division (FHWA-CFLHD) will be holding a public meeting to discuss a project to replace three temporary bridges located on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) in Wainiha. Work will involve replacing the existing temporary bridges with permanent bridges while maintaining traffic throughout the construction. Work is currently in the environmental compliance and preliminary engineering phase. The meeting is scheduled at the following location and time:

A presentation will be made to describe FHWA-CFLHD’s role in the project and the environmental process. Public input will be gathered on the project’s purpose and need, and on factors that should be considered in evaluating alternative plans.
