H-1 Freeway Nighttime Lane Closures Continue Next Week
Posted on Dec 5, 2014 in Highways News, Main, NewsHONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists of upcoming weeknight lane closures on the H-1 Freeway scheduled from Sunday night, December 7, through Friday morning, December 12, at the following locations and times.
EASTBOUND
Sunday night, December 7, through Monday morning, December 8
Full eastbound closures from the H-1 Airport Viaduct Middle Street/Dillingham Blvd off-ramp (Exit 18B) and the H-201 Moanalua Freeway Fort Shafter/King Street off-ramp to the H-1 Kalihi Street overpass from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for pavement striping and marker installations.
Eastbound H-1 Freeway Airport Viaduct traffic will be detoured to the Middle Street/Dillingham Blvd off-ramp (Exit 18B). Eastbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway traffic will be detoured to the Fort Shafter/King Street off-ramp. Traffic can re-enter the H-1 eastbound at the Kalihi Street on-ramp near Farrington High School.
WESTBOUND
Sunday night, December 7, through Friday morning, December 12
Partial westbound closures on the H-1 Freeway between the Pali Highway off-ramp (Exit 21B) and the Houghtailing Street off-ramp (Exit 20B). Two freeway lanes and the School Street on-ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly, for drainage grating work. Motorists wishing to access the H-1 westbound should proceed on School Street turn left onto Liliha Street and turn right onto Vineyard Boulevard to the next available on-ramp on Halona Street. Two freeway lanes and all exit ramps will remain open.
Monday night, December 8, to Tuesday morning, December 9
Partial westbound closures from the Likelike Hwy off-ramp (Exit 20A) to the Middle Street Overpass from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. for pavement striping and marker installations.
One left lane will remain open for through traffic to the H-201 Moanalua Freeway towards the Fort Shafter/Aiea off-ramp (Exit 19B). Three right lanes will be closed including the Likelike Highway on-ramp and the Middle Street off-ramp (Exit 19A). Motorists wishing to access the airport area may use the Fort Shafter/Ahua Street off-ramp (Exit 4) or the Puuloa Road/Tripler Hospital off-ramp (Exit 3) to Nimitz Highway as an alternate route.
