HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists that today’s previously-scheduled single lane closure on Farrington Highway in the eastbound direction between Helelua Street and Nanakuli Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. has been postponed for Wednesday,  Dec. 10.  Special duty police officers were not available to provide traffic control at three key intersections.  Work is anticipated to continue on Thursday, Dec. 11, through Friday, Dec. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, at the locations above.

This work is part of the Farrington Highway Intersection Improvements project which will widen the existing highway between Nanakuli Avenue and Helelua Street to include a new 10-foot-wide auxiliary lane, create a new eight-foot-wide shared use path for pedestrians and bicyclists, relocate utilities and upgrade traffic signal, street lighting and drainage systems.
