HONOLULU – The state Department of Transportation (DOT) advises Oahu motorists of upcoming eastbound lane closures on the H-1 Freeway Airport Viaduct as ongoing concrete deck repairs continue.

Three lanes will be closed in the eastbound direction from the Radford Drive Overpass to the Airport Off-Ramp (Exit 16) from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, through 4:30 a.m. on Monday morning, Feb. 9, for viaduct deck repairs. The on-ramp originating from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam will also be closed during this time.

Eastbound motorists are advised to use Nimitz Highway as an alternate route. The H-1 shoulder lane will also be open for use during lane closure hours. Motorists are advised to follow construction signage and pay attention to reduced speed limits.

As a reminder, tentative weeknight lane closures are scheduled eastbound in this same area next Monday through Friday morning, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly.

The DOT urges motorists to drive with caution and follow the posted signage on the freeway. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes if possible.  Lane closure information will be available on the HDOT website at hidot.hawaii.gov, and will be released through our social media channels on Facebook and Twitter.
