H-1 Freeway Ramp Closures Sunday On Punchbowl Street
Posted on Mar 13, 2015 in Highways News, Main, NewsHONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists of H-1 Freeway On-Ramp and Off-Ramp closures to and from the Vineyard Boulevard-Punchbowl Street intersection on Sunday, Mar. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road repaving. See below for lane closure details.
- Full closure of H-1 Freeway eastbound Punchbowl Street Off-Ramp (Exit 21B). Eastbound motorists wishing to access the Downtown Honolulu area are advised to take the previous Pali Highway Off-Ramp (Exit 21A) or Vineyard Boulevard Off-Ramp (Exit 20B) as an alternate route.
- Full closure of the Pali Highway ramp to Punchbowl Street.
The Pali Highway ramp to the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction will remain open. Pali Highway motorists wishing to access Punchbowl Street are advised to stay on Pali Highway and use Vineyard Boulevard or South King Street as alternate routes. - Full closure of Punchbowl Street on the mauka-side of Vineyard Boulevard in both directions, including the on-ramp to the H-1 Freeway westbound.
Motorists wishing to access H-1 westbound are advised to take Vineyard Boulevard to the Halona Street on-ramp.
Local traffic only heading to the housing area northeast of the Punchbowl Street and Vineyard Boulevard intersection will be allowed access through the above intersection.
Electronic message boards will be stationed on the H-1 Freeway, Vineyard Boulevard, and Punchbowl Street to warn motorists of upcoming closures. Special duty police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic and ramp closures.
Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays, plan ahead and drive safely through the work zone area. For roadwork updates and information, please visit the HDOT website at hidot.hawaii.gov. Roadwork is weather permitting.
