HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists that nighttime roadwork in the westbound direction in the Pearl City area will be delayed on State, City and Rail Transit projects until 10 p.m. tonight to help alleviate traffic due to an ongoing H-1 traffic fatality investigation in the Pearl City area.

Other traffic modifications listed below have also been implemented for today:

  • H-1 Freeway westbound HOV left lane (a.k.a. the “Diamond Lane”) is open for use by all vehicles.
  • H-1 westbound right shoulder lanes are also open for use in the following areas:
  1. the Radford Drive Overpass and the Kaneohe/Honolulu Off-Ramp (Exit 13B)
  2. the Kaonohi Street Overpass to the Waimalu/Pearl City Off-Ramp (Exit 10)

The ongoing investigation currently has two H-1 westbound right lanes closed between the Waimalu/Pearl City Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B).
