Lagoon Drive Access Restricted on 4th of July Holiday
Posted on Jul 2, 2015 in Highways News, Main, NewsHONOLULU — The state Department of Transportation advises Oahu motorists that access to Lagoon Drive, adjacent to the Honolulu International Airport, will be restricted makai of Aolele Street from 6 p.m., Saturday evening, July 4, to 2 a.m., Sunday morning, July 5.
Sheriff’s Deputies will be operating a security checkpoint on Lagoon Drive to ensure that only authorized persons and materials are allowed access. Patrols of area streets will be conducted throughout the night. Consumption of alcoholic beverages, use of fireworks and open flames are not permitted on airport property.
Suspicious persons or unsafe activities near the Honolulu International Airport should be reported immediately to the Sheriff’s Detail at 836-6606 or to the Airport Duty Manager at 836-6434.
