Daytime work announced in the Wilson Tunnel, all lanes scheduled to open Nov. 6

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) would like to update the public that emergency repair work in the Wilson Tunnel is progressing well. Before the work can be completed daytime lane closures will be necessary. Motorists should be advised of daytime work on the Likelike Highway in the Honolulu bound direction on Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, Nov. 4, through Thursday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 a.m. During these times both Honolulu bound lanes will be closed from the H-3 Freeway split through the Wilson Tunnel. During the closure crews will be removing the concrete barriers from inside the tunnel.

As a reminder, the two lanes of the Honolulu bound direction of the Likelike Highway will be closed Friday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31 from 9 p.m. – 4 a.m.

All lanes on the Likelike Highway in the Honolulu bound direction are scheduled to be open on Thursday morning, Nov. 5.

In the Kaneohe bound direction one lane will continue to be closed from 9 p.m. – 4 a.m. nightly for concrete repairs until Friday morning, Nov. 6. HDOT reminds motorists that both Kaneohe bound lanes will be closed on Sunday, Nov. 1, and Monday, Nov. 2, from 9 p.m. – 4 a.m. from Valley View Drive through the Wilson Tunnel.

HDOT plans to have construction completed in the Kaneohe bound direction by Friday morning, Nov. 6.

The Pali Highway and H-3 Freeway are alternate routes.
