HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) Airports Division alerts travelers of limited parking at the Honolulu International Airport’s public parking lots during Thanksgiving weekend due to an increased amount of air travel.
There are nearly 5,200 parking spaces available to the public at Honolulu International Airport (HNL). During holiday weekends, typically the Interisland Parking Structure (Lot M) and the Overseas Parking Structure (Lot D) will fill up first. Travelers also have the option to park in the International Parking Structure (Lot A) and the Economy Parking (Lot B). Travelers are advised to allow for additional walking time to the ticket lobbies, as some lots are further from the main terminal than others. For more information on each lot, please visit https://hawaii.gov/hnl/airport-parking
Travelers are encouraged to get dropped off at the airport by a friend or relative or schedule a shuttle, taxi or another method of transportation.
The HNL Interim Car Rental Facility that opened on Nov. 4, 2015 is located in the eastern half of the Overseas Parking Structure. The Facility consolidated the five existing car rental companies on the airport premises to operate efficiently from one location. The facility houses Advantage, Avis, Budget, Hertz, and National car rental companies as well as a new car wash, fueling stations, customer service building and hassle-free car pick-up/return areas.
The interim facility will enable to construction of the permanent Consolidated Rental Car Facility (CONRAC), a component of the Hawaii Airports Modernization Program which will modernize and enhance traveler experience at the Honolulu International Airport.
