HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists that Ala Moana Boulevard will be closed in the westbound direction between Queen Street and Kamakee Street on Thursday night, Oct. 13, 2016 from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., for resurfacing work.

During closure hours, westbound motorists will be detoured onto Queen Street then onto Auahi Street. Motorists can exit either at Kamakee Street or Ward Avenue to get back onto Ala Moana Boulevard. HDOT advises motorists to expect delays and allow for extra travel time to get to their destinations.

Electronic message boards have been posted throughout Ala Moana Boulevard to notify motorists of the closures. Special Duty Police Officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control. Emergency vehicles, first responders and The Bus have been notified and will reroute their course as they will not be allowed through the work zone. Roadwork is weather permitting.

Closure information has been posted to our HDOT website at hidot.hawaii.gov and will be released through our social media websites on Facebook and Twitter.
