HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT), will be holding public informational meetings to discuss the draft Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for fiscal years 2019-2022 (+2) for Maui County only. We encourage the public to participate in these meetings as the comments will help guide the finalization of the STIP. Meetings for other parts of the state will be held in Spring.

The STIP is a four-year programming document that identifies state and county transportation projects that are funded in part by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The meetings will be conducted by the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) who is responsible for programming STIP projects for the island of Maui. Proposed STIP projects on the islands of Molokai and Lanai will be open for discussion as they fall under Maui County.
