The eastbound H-1 Freeway will be closed for the Kapolei Interchange project on Thursday night, Nov. 8
Posted on Nov 2, 2018 in Highways News, Main, NewsHONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists that the eastbound H-1 Freeway will be closed between the Campbell Industrial Park/Barbers Point Harbor offramp (Exit 1A) and the Wakea Street onramp on Thursday night, Nov. 8, 2018, through Friday morning, Nov. 9, 2018, from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for the installation of the abutment wall for the Kapolei Interchange Complex, Phase 2 project.
Eastbound motorists will be directed to Kalaeloa Boulevard via the Campbell Industrial Park/Barbers Point Harbor offramp (Exit 1A) and may continue on Kapolei Parkway, Kamokila Boulevard, and Wakea Street to return to the eastbound H-1 Freeway. Electronic message boards will be posted throughout the area to notify motorists of the full closure. Special Duty Police Officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control and safety procedures. Emergency vehicles, first responders, and TheBus have been notified of the roadwork and will not be allowed through the work zone.
Other closures scheduled for the week of Nov. 5, 2018, are as follows.
- Left lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Kapolei/Ewa offramp (Exit 3) and the Farrington Highway offramp (Exit 1E) on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, through Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for surveying and sign installation work.
- Left lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between Wakea Street onramp and the Kapolei/Ewa offramp (Exit 3) on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, through Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for surveying and sign installation work.
There will be no closures scheduled on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, for Election Day.
HDOT advises motorists to allow for extra travel time and to check traffic apps before heading to their destinations. Roadwork is weather permitting.
