HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) notifies Oahu motorists that the right lane on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway will be closed in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of Red Hill between the Puuloa Road overpass and the Funston Road overpass, on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, from 6 a.m. to 12 noon. Construction will be doing patch work on the freeway to smooth the surface of the Moanalua Stream Bridge.

During this time, the Fort Shafter/King Street offramp will also be closed. Motorists wanting to access North King Street are advised to take the Airport/Tripler Hospital offramp (Exit 3) and continue onto Paa Street which will become North King Street.

In the event of an emergency, first responders and emergency vehicles will be let through the work zone. If roadwork is finished before the scheduled time, the lanes will be reopened to motorists.

Motorists should allow for extra travel time for their commute and are advised to check traffic apps like GoAkamai before heading to their destinations. Roadwork is weather permitting.
