HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu residents of an increase in air traffic over the downtown and Kalihi areas due to planned maintenance work at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

General maintenance on Runway 8R/26L will take place between 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 and Wednesday, Sept. 18. During this time flight patterns will be altered, resulting in potential increases in air traffic over downtown Honolulu and Kalihi. All work is weather permitting.

HDOT thanks the community for their cooperation as we work to maintain our facilities at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.
