Kamehameha Highway Rehabilitation, Vicinity of Kapuhi Street to Dairy Road schedule for Sept. 16-23

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) provides an update on the Sept. 16-23 schedule for the Kamehameha Highway Rehabilitation, Vicinity of Kapuhi Street to Dairy Road.

The contractor will be working on the bus pads and a side road in the vicinity of Sunset Beach Elementary Friday, Sept. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. No paving will take place on the main road.

On Monday, Sept. 19, and Tuesday, Sept. 20, there will be a single lane closure on Kamehameha Highway at Sunset Beach Elementary from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. as the crew paves the top lift of the main road.

Wednesday, Sept. 21, the crew will continue paving bus pads and side roads on the Haleiwa side of the school. The contractor has been advised to be mindful of the early dismissal for Sunset Beach Elementary.

On Thursday, Sept. 22, and Friday, Sept. 23, paving on the main road will continue from the vicinity of the school towards Haleiwa. Crews will observe traffic during the paving on Monday and Tuesday to determine the end time to reduce traffic impacts.

HDOT appreciates the public’s cooperation as we work to improve the roadways on the North Shore. All roadwork is weather permitting.
