AIRPORT INFORMATION UNIT SUPERVISORThis position serves as the unit head and supervises airport communications/information work at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.
AIRPORT OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE WORKER I – SHIFT WORK – LANAI AIRPORTThe Airport Operations & Maintenance Worker I performs maintenance and repair work of airport terminal buildings, grounds and airfield. Work includes painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, servicing vehicles and equipment. Maintains landscape, road shoulders, drainage, airfield safety areas; applies fertilizes, herbicides and pesticides; weeds, trim and cut grass and trees; install and repair irrigation lines, sprinkler head and sprinkler controls; other duties as assigned
AIRPORT OPERATIONS CONTROLLER I – KONA (DELEGATED)The incumbent will serve in a trainee capacity. This position is responsible, on a shift basis, for the maintenance of communication between the Ramp Control operations and all persons or agencies using the airport operational areas, the assignment of aircraft parking positions, maintenance of records pertaining to the above, maintenance of revenue records, collecting revenue charges from transient aircraft, supervising a work shift and performs periodic security inspections.
AIRPORT OPERATIONS CONTROLLER II-SHIFT WORK- OAHUThe Airport Operations Controller II controls aircraft parking and movement, enforces regulations and operates radio communications to maintain safety and operational efficiency in airport ground operations areas; and maintains logs and records, prepares reports and tabulates aircraft revenue landings. Work is subject to periodic review for adherence to instructions and the correctness of decisions in situations requiring tact and forcefulness.
AIRPORT OPERATIONS CONTROLLER III -SHIFT WORK- OahuThe Airport Operations Controller III serves as a senior controller on a shift at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. Performs independent aircraft ground operations control work; assigns gate positions and terminal holding rooms to air carriers for arriving and/or departing aircraft; assigns aircraft to storage areas for engine testing and layovers; coordinates movement of aircraft in emergency situations; enforces safety regulations; patrols operational areas to monitor ground operations and traffic movement; and inspects runways, taxiways, ramps and other areas for obstructions.
AIRPORT OPERATIONS DUTY MANAGER – OAHUThe primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Airport Services Manager for the immediate operations during an assigned shift by coordinating  activities of more than 20 in-house and contract services at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, Dillingham Airfield, Kalaeloa Airport and other State airports on the island of Oahu.  The Airport Services Manager is responsible for ensuring the provision of safe and continuous 24/7 airport services and activities in compliance with various federal, state and county laws, rules, regulations and program policies, procedures and standard.  While on duty, this position is the manager in charge of immediate operational crisis response.  The position directs and controls operational security, maintenance, custodial, ramp control, intra-terminal transportation, ground transportation, airport medical, general aviation, air cargo, airline, airport tenants, users and airport retail services functions; makes immediate, time sensitive decisions and take immediate action in highly critical operational, life and safety and customer service issues while effectively communicating with emergency response teams and upper management; time permitting, develops and executes complex operational plans with government agencies, tenant, users, contractors, media and emergency response units; initiates, investigates and recommends operational improvements related to operations, maintenance, customer service and labor relations.
ASSISTANT AIRPORT SUPERINTENDENT V – KALAELOA AIRPORT, OAHUThe Assistant Airport Superintendent V assists in managing all areas of airport district functions including serving as a regular relief and representative of the Airport Superintendent in dealing with federal, state and county agencies, airport tenants, airport staff, travelers and others; and performs other duties as required.
CRASH/FIRE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC – HILO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – HAWAII ISLANDMaintains and repairs aircraft crash/fire rescue vehicles, boats and auxiliary equipment; repairs diesel and gasoline engines, including synchronized dual engines; fabricates parts and performs welding to modify vehicles and constructs or repairs various items; may repair automobiles, trucks, and heavy construction equipment; and performs other related duties as assigned.
ELECTRICIAN I – SHIFT WORK – DANIEL K. INOUYE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, OAHUIndependently perform a variety of skilled electrical work in the repair, maintenance and installation of electrical systems and equipment as a regular and continuing assignment; may supervise one or more helpers assisting in the work; and perform other related duties as assigned.
GENERAL LABORER II – DANIEL K. INOUYE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTThis position performs a variety of semi-skilled manual work tasks involved in the maintenance of roads, buildings, structures and equipment, or refuse collection work involving continuous heavy physical labor as a major work assignment.
GROUNDSKEEPER I – DANIEL K. INOUYE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTThe Groundskeeper I positions perform a variety of manual work in the cleaning, care and maintenance of landscaped grounds areas such as lawns, hedges and other plantings, and adjacent sidewalk and other paved and unpaved areas; uses hand and power lawn tools and operates light motorized equipment.
GROUNDSKEEPER II, DANIEL K. INOUYE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTThe Groundskeeper II supervises and participates in a variety of manual work in grounds keeping as a major work assignment. Supervises the work of a crew in the manual work in the cleaning, care and maintenance of landscaped grounds and adjacent areas.
GROUNDSKEEPER II MAUI (DELEGATED)This position participates and supervises a work crew in performing landscape maintenance such as digging, planting, mowing, trimming, pruning and weeding of lawn, trees, shrubs and bushes, participates and supervises the application of fertilizer, herbicide, insecticide and fungicide and to pick up and clean areas by removing leaves, branches, rubbish and other debris.  This position also participates and supervises a work crew in the installation and repair of sprinkler system, repair ground erosion, cultivate plants, make compose and work in the plant nursery.
HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT III – ELLISON ONIZUKA KONA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AT KEAHOLE/HAWAII ISLANDPerforms detailed routines of limited complexity pertinent to processing of human resources actions which are typically: (a) assigned on a continuing basis; and (b) are covered by well established guidelines, procedures and/or instructions which provide a fairly specific basis for taking action; and performs other related duties as assigned.
JANITOR II – SHIFT WORK – KAHULUI AIRPORTThe Janitor II positions perform routine manual work in cleaning and maintaining public areas. Duties include tasks that require heavy lifting; cleaning places and equipment which are not easily accessible; performing simple building repair work; operating heavy industrial-type cleaning equipment; and performing other related duties as assigned.
JANITOR II – SHIFT WORK – OAHUThe Janitor II positions perform routine manual work in cleaning and maintaining public areas. Duties include tasks that require heavy lifting; cleaning places and equipment which are not easily accessible; performing simple building repair work and operating heavy industrial-type cleaning equipment; and performing other related duties as assigned.
JANITOR SUPERINTENDENT (MAUI)The Janitor Superintendent directs and supervises the custodial, floor maintenance and supply operations in the cleaning and maintenance of building areas. Ensures that subordinate supervisors, custodial, floor maintenance and supply personnel are trained to perform their jobs in the most efficient manner using tools and equipment properly. Prepares fiscal year budget, equipment and supplies specifications, initiates contract requirements and handles custodial procurement.
PROPERTY MANAGER III – HILO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – HAWAII ISLANDIndependently performs a variety of work of average scope and complexity in the management of real properties and facilities; and performs other related duties as required.

SAFETY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST I, II, III – KAHULUIThe Safety Management Specialist (SMS) I position serves in a trainee capacity, receiving formal and on-the-job training in the principles, concepts, work processes, regulations and reference materials fundamental to technical and professional aspects of a safety management system and programs requiring Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification; and performs other related duties as required.

The Safety Management Specialist (SMS) II position serves in a trainee capacity, receiving formal and on-the-job training, in work processes, precedent situations, SMS, and FAA regulations relative to certificated airports; performs a variety of basic and routine assignments consistent with training status; and performs other related duties as required.

 The Safety Management Specialist (SMS) III position performs basic reviews, inspections and evaluations of safety and certification program components for airport operations; implements SMS program performing reviews, inspections and evaluations of airport facilities and grounds, airside and landside as assigned; performs other related duties as required.

Inouye International AirportThe Visitor Information Program Assistant I is responsible for greeting, welcoming and assisting the traveling public at State-operated airports and harbor terminals; provides information of interest to visitors to encourage travel to the major islands in the Hawaiian chain. Works under the general supervision of a higher level Visitor Information Program Assistant.

Inouye International AirportThe Visitor Information Program Assistant II (Japanese) is responsible for greeting, welcoming and assisting the traveling public in providing information of interest relative to hotels and other accommodations, ground and air transportation, tourist attractions and activities and disseminates maps, brochures and periodicals at the airport. This class is responsible for speaking a designated foreign language while conversing with the traveling public and others and providing interpreter services as required.

Inouye International AirportThe Visitor Information Program Assistant II (Korean Speaking) is responsible for greeting, welcoming and assisting the traveling public in providing information of interest relative to hotels and other accommodations, ground and air transportation, tourist attractions and activities and disseminates maps, brochures and periodicals at the airport. This class is responsible for speaking a designated foreign language while conversing with the traveling public and others, and for providing interpreter services as required. This is in addition to the duties of the next lower level of this series.

This class is responsible for speaking a designated foreign language while conversing with the traveling public and others and providing interpreter services as required.
VISITOR INFORMATION PROGRAM ASSISTANT I – SHIFT WORK – ELLISON ONIZUKA KONA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTThe Visitor Information Program Assistant I is responsible for greeting, welcoming, and assisting the traveling public at the Kona Airport; for providing information of interest to visitors to encourage travel to the major islands in the Hawaiian chain; and for incidentally performing various clerical duties and other related duties as assigned.
