LIHUE — The state Department of Transportation advises Kauai motorists that beginning at 10 p.m. on Monday night, May 14, the northbound lane of Puhi Road, approaching Kauai Community College, will be closed continuously between the Puhi Park Entrance and Kaumualii Highway for road construction for approximately four weeks (see map below).

During this time, Puhi Road traffic in the northbound direction will be detoured onto Kaneka Street and Nuhou Street as an alternate route to Kaumualii Highway.  The southbound lane of Puhi Street will remain open as normal.

Motorists are advised to use caution driving through the intersection while familiarizing themselves with the new traffic pattern and to follow posted traffic control devices.  Motorists are reminded that the construction zone speed limit is 25 miles per hour.
