The Maui District Storm Water Management Program Plan (Maui District SWMP Plan) establishes a manageable and comprehensive program for all State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, Highways Division (HDOT) activities and entities that have a relationship with Maui District’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (Maui District MS4). As such, this document describes the system of programs and activities that the HDOT will undertake to reduce the discharge of storm water pollutants, to the maximum extent practicable from the Maui District MS4. Ultimately, the goal of the Maui District SWMP is to protect water quality and to satisfy the conditions of Maui District’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Small MS4 General Permit for Kahului, Maui (Permit File No. HI15KE674).
