H-3 Freeway, H-1 Freeway, Nimitz Highway, and Ala Moana Boulevard lane closures on Saturday, Oct. 15, for triathlon
Posted on Oct 13, 2016 in Highways News, Main, NewsHONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists that there will be lane closures on multiple roadways on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. for the Hawaii Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation’s Race to the Base triathlon.
The lane closures on State roadways are as follows:
- Ala Moana Boulevard/Nimitz Highway – Two westbound left lanes closed from Atkinson Drive to Valkenburgh Street.
- H-1 Freeway – One westbound right lane closed from the Valkenburgh Street On-Ramp to the Kaneohe/Honolulu Off-Ramp (Exit 13B).
- H-3 Freeway – Closed in the Kaneohe-bound direction between the Halawa Interchange and the Kaneohe Marine Corps Base.
Crews will be reopening roadways as the last participant passes through. Electronic message boards will be displayed to inform motorists of the closures. Motorists are advised to allow for extra travel time, use alternate routes, and drive with caution through the race areas.
