Roadwork on Kalihi Street between Fri. Sept. 27 and Fri. Oct. 4

Motorists and residents are advised of sidewalk closures on Kalihi Street between Dillingham Boulevard and Ashford Street during weekend work.

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) notifies Oahu motorists of a right lane closure on Kailihi Street in the northbound direction between Dillingham Boulevard and North King Street, for the week of Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, through Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, for resurfacing work, sidewalk reconstruction and striping of raised crosswalks for the Kalihi Street Resurfacing project.

Closure details are as follows:

  • Night work: Friday night, Sept. 27, and Monday night, Sept. 30, through Friday morning, Oct. 4, from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., nightly.
  • Day work: Saturday, Sept. 28, and Sunday, Sept. 29, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Sidewalk closures and detours will be in place at various locations throughout Kalihi Street, from Dillingham Boulevard to Ashford Street during the weekend work. Motorists should also be aware that parking along Kalihi Street may be limited on Saturday morning, Sept. 28, due to events happening in the area.

Electronic message boards will be posted to notify motorists of the closures and detours. Special Duty Police Officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control and safety procedures.
