WEEKEND CLOSURES

— H-1 FREEWAY —

1) MAKAKILO (NIGHT WORK)

Closure of two westbound lanes on the H-1 Freeway between the Kualakai Parkway on-ramp and the Makakilo Drive off-ramp from 8 p.m. Sunday, July 19 to 4 a.m. Monday, July 20 for precast concrete panel installations.

2) SALT LAKE TO STADIUM – EASTBOUND

Continuous weekend closure of three to four lanes on the right-hand side of the eastbound H-1 Freeway, between the Kaimakani Street overpass and the Nimitz Highway/Airport off-ramp (Exit 15), from 6 p.m. on Friday, July 17 through 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 19 for paving and guardrail work as part of the H-1 Salt Lake Rehabilitation project.

  • Friday night work will include paving in the third lane from the median.
  • Saturday day work will address punchlist observations for the guardrails.
  • Saturday night work will continue paving in the third lane from the median.
  • Sunday day work will include removal of equipment and preparing lanes to reopen.

3) SALT LAKE TO STADIUM – WESTBOUND

Three right lanes closed on H-1 westbound between the Navy Marine Golf Course and Exit 12 to Aiea from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 19 for permanent striping.

4) HONOLULU (24-HOUR CLOSURE)

Right shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway, in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of the Ola Lane overpass and Richard Lane, 24-hours a day, 7-days a week as part of the H-1 Freeway Widening. For more information, visit the project website: https://h1widening.com/

5) HONOLULU (24-HOUR CLOSURE)

Right shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway, in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of the Likelike Highway on-ramp and the Gulick Avenue overpass, 24-hours a day, 7-days a week as part of the H-1 Freeway Widening. For more information, visit the project website: https://h1widening.com/

6) WARD ON-RAMP

The Ward Avenue on-ramp to eastbound H-1 Freeway and the right lane approaching the ramp will be closed from 8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 19 to 4:30 a.m. Monday, July 20 for guardrail improvements. Traffic will be detoured to the Piikoi on-ramp.

 

— H-2 FREEWAY —

1) WAIPIO

Right side shoulder closure on southbound H-2 Freeway after the Ka Uka Boulevard on-ramp for the duration of the Interstate Route H-2 Panakauahi Culvert Rehabilitation.

 

— H-201 MOANALUA FREEWAY —

1) HONOLULU TO HALAWA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Nightly three lane closure on the westbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway, between the Puuloa Road on-ramp and the Ala Kapuna Street overpass, from 9 p.m. Sunday, July 19 through 5 a.m. Monday, July 20 for repaving work. Closure will start on the left side and move as work progresses.

 

— H-3 FREEWAY —

1) KANEOHE (24-HOUR CLOSURE)

2) KANEOHE

Single lane closure on the right-hand side of the Kaneohe-bound H-3 Freeway, between the Harano Tunnels and the Hospital Rock Tunnels, from 2 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, July 18 for repairing of steel plate welds.

 

— PALI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 61) —

1) KAILUA

Roving single right lane closure on southbound Pali Highway between Castle Junction and the tunnel from 3 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 18 for tree trimming and shoulder scraping.

 

— ALA MOANA BOULEVARD/NIMITZ HIGHWAY (ROUTE 92) —

1) IWILEI (HART CLOSURE)

Single lane closure on Nimitz Highway in both directions between Awa Street and Richards Street on Saturday, July 18 for HART civil restoration, drilling and traffic signal work.

  • Closure times for the eastbound lane will be 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Closure times for the westbound lane will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY (ROUTE 93) —

1) KO OLINA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on the left-hand side of eastbound Farrington Highway (Route 93) between Aliinui Drive and Koio Drive, from 8 p.m. Sunday, July 19 to 4 a.m. Monday, July 20 for digging of electrical trench in the median.

 

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 99) —

1) PEARL HARBOR (HART CLOSURE)

Single lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in both directions between Kohomua Street and Center Drive on Saturday, July 18 for roadway maintenance and landscaping.

  • Closure times for the westbound lane will be 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

24/7 single lane closure on the following state-owned portions of Dillingham Boulevard for HART civil, utility and guideway installation:

  • Westbound between GasPro and Middle Street
  • Reduction of the left-turn lanes from southbound Middle Street onto Dillingham Boulevard to a single lane

Closure of three to four lanes on the eastbound H-1 Freeway between the H-1/H-2 Merge and the Aiea/Honolulu Exit 13A nightly from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 21 through Thursday, July 23 (with the Thursday night closure ending at 4:30 a.m. Friday) for the Pearl City and Waimalu Viaduct Improvements.

Note: The closure will start with three lanes closed from 7 p.m. and increase to four lanes from 8 p.m. through the duration of the closure. Closure may be of the left or right lanes; one side to be closed at a time.

3) AIEA TO AIRPORT (NIGHT WORK)

Closure of three left lanes on the eastbound H-1 Freeway between the Kaonohi Overpass and the Airport/Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam exit nightly from 8:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. Tuesday, July 21 through Thursday, July 23 (with the Thursday night closure ending at 4 a.m. Friday) for permanent striping.

4) MAPUNAPUNA TO HAWAII KAI

Roving single lane closure on H-1 Freeway in both directions between Puuloa Road to Lunalilo Home Road between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 as crews address potholes and other reported maintenance.

5) HONOLULU (24/7 CLOSURE)

3) NUUANU TO KAILUA 

Single lane closure on Kailua-bound Pali Highway (Route 61) between the Pali Tunnels and Castle Medical Center, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 13 for moss scraping work.

4) KAILUA

Single left lane closures on Kalanianaole Highway/Kailua Road (Route 61), possible in either direction, between Ulumanu Drive and Uluhala Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 for traffic signals project. Single right lane closure on southbound Kalihi Street (Route 63) between Eluwene Street and Colburn Street, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 to support sewer work, paving and installation of temporary striping for HART.

Single right lane closure on northbound Kalihi Street (Route 63) between Valley View Drive and the Burnmeister Overpass from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 23 for tree trimming/removal.

Alternating single lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) possible in either direction between Inoaole Street and Waimanalo Bay Street from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 for installation of signs for future speed table.

Single lane closure on the makai (ocean) side of Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in the vicinity of Nalu Street from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21 through Thursday, July 23 for permitted boulder and gravel installation.

3) WAIMANALO TO MAKAPUU

Shoulder closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in the east/south bound direction between Waimanalo Junction and Makapuu Beach Park from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 for tree trimming.

Single right lane closure on eastbound Nimitz Highway (Route 92) between Rodgers Boulevard and Lagoon Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 for sidewalk, curb and gutter repairs.

3) IWILEI (24/7 HART CLOSURE)

The following 24/7 closures are in place within the Nimitz/Ala Moana corridor until further notice:

  • The inside lane of both directions of Nimitz Highway between Awa and Richards Streets

5) IWILEI (HART CLOSURE)

Up to two lane closure on Nimitz Highway in both directions between Awa Street and Richards Street nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, July 20 through Saturday, July 25 for HART drilling operations.

6) HONOLULU (HART CLOSURE)

Halekauwila Street from Nimitz Highway is closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 20 through Saturday, July 25 for potholing.

7) HONOLULU 

Two right lanes closed on the right-hand side of westbound Ala Moana Boulevard (Route 92) between Koula Street and Ward Avenue, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 for HECO underground utility work.

 

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY (ROUTE 93) —

Roving single lane closure on the right-hand side of westbound Vineyard Boulevard (Route 98) between Liliha Street and Kauluwela Street, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, July 24 for bulky item removal. 

2) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)

Alternating two lane closure on Vineyard Boulevard at its intersection with Nuuanu Avenue from 9 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. nightly, Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 23 for manhole surveying.

 

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY/KAMANANUI ROAD/WILIKINA DRIVE (ROUTE 99) —

Roving right lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) between Poamoho to Weed Circle from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 for mechanical mowing and grass trimming. 

2) PEARL CITY

Up to two lane closure on westbound Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) between Waihona Street and the H-1/H-2 on-ramps from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 20 for Kona low emergency clearing of Waiawa Stream.

3) PEARL CITY

Single lane closure on westbound Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) between the H-1 overpass and Puuponi Street from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 for tree trimming.

4) PEARL HARBOR (HART CLOSURE)

Single lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in both directions between Kohomua Street and Center Drive Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 for roadway maintenance and landscaping.

  • Closure times for the eastbound lane will be 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Closure times for the westbound lane will be 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Roving right shoulder closure possible in both directions on Kunia Road (Route 750) between the water reservoir to Kupuna Loop from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 for mowing, tree trimming and litter pickup. 

 

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY/KAUKONAHUA ROAD (ROUTE 930) —

Single lane closure on the right-hand side of Farrington Highway (Route 930) possible in either direction, between Hoomana Place and Terminal Access Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 23 for Bomford and tree trimming work fronting Kawaihapai (Dillingham) Airfield. One direction to be closed at a time.

Alternating single lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 930) possible in either direction, between Mamua Place and Kuhi Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 for installation of signs for future speed table. One direction to be closed at a time.

Alternating single lane closure on Waianae Valley Road (Route 8542) possible in either direction, between Pulapula Place and Haleahi Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 for installation of permanent striping at new speed tables installed for the City.
