Oahu lane closures scheduled for the week of Sept. 7 – Sept. 13

Right lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 93) in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of Maipalaoa Bridge, on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for concrete swale preparation work.

Two lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 93) in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of Maipalaoa Bridge, on Friday, Sept. 13 through Sunday, Sept. 15  from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., for concrete deck pours. Traffic will be contraflowed.

10) AIRPORT (NIGHT WORK) 

Closure of the Airport off-ramp (Exit 16) from the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction, on Tuesday, Sept. 10 and Thursday, Sept. 12 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., for ramp repairs. 

 

— H-1 FREEWAY — 

1) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of the Kapiolani Boulevard off-ramp (Exit 25B) and Alexander Street on Sunday night, Sept. 8, through Friday morning, Sept. 13, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for asphalt pavement preservation. Off-ramps to King Street, Wilder Avenue and University Avenue will be closed during this time. 

 

2) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK) 

Two lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction at the Punahou Street on-ramp (Exit 23) on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 2 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for pothole patching in both lanes of the on-ramp. 

  

3) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK) 

Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of Magellan Avenue and the Miller Street Pedestrian Overpass, on Thursday, Sept. 12 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for emergency drain work. 

 

4) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK) 

Right lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of Houghtailing Street and Kalihi Street, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. for installation of Best Management Practices (BMP’s). 

 

5) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK) 

Right lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of Middle Street and the Likelike HIghway off-ramp (Exit 20A), on Monday, Sept. 7, through Friday, Sept. 13, from 3 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for grass trimming, shoulder scraping and tree trimming.  

  

6) HONOLULU (24-HR. CLOSURE) 

Right shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of the Ola Lane Overpass and Likelike Highway, 24-hours a day, 7-days a week as part of the H-1 Freeway Widening. For more information, visit the project website: https://h1widening.com/.

8) HONOLULU (24-HOUR CLOSURE) 

Three left lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of the Nimitz Highway Off-ramp (Exit 18) and the Airport Viaduct, on Saturday, Sept. 7 through Monday, Sept. 9 over a 24-hour period, for roadway repairs.  

  

9) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK) 

Roving left shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway possible in either direction in the vicinity of Lagoon Drive and University Avenue, on Monday, Sept. 9, from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., for mechanical sweeping and debris removal. 

  

10) AIRPORT (NIGHT WORK) 

Closure of the Airport off-ramp (Exit 16) from the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction, on Tuesday, Sept. 10 and Thursday, Sept. 12 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., for ramp repairs.

Lane closure on the Middle Street/Dillingham Boulevard off-ramp (Exit 18B) from the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction on Tuesday, Sept. 10, through Thursday, Sept. 12, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., for HART station work.

12) HONOLULU TO KAPOLEI (NIGHT WORK) 

Roving shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway, possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Ainakoa Avenue and Kalaeloa Boulevard, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13 from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. for drain inspection and cleaning. 

 

13) AIRPORT TO HALAWA (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway, in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of Kahuapaani Street and Nimitz Highway, on Saturday, Sept. 7 through Monday, Sept. 9, continuously from 12 a.m. to 12 a.m. for resurfacing. Zipper Lane will be deployed. 

   

14) AIRPORT (NIGHT WORK) 

Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of Nimitz Highway and Kahuapaani Street, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. for guardrail installations. 

 

15) AIEA TO AIRPORT VIADUCT (NIGHT WORK) 

Left shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of Waiawa Drive and Nimitz Highway, on Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. for mechanical sweeping and debris removal. 

 

16) PEARL CITY (NIGHT WORK) 

Three to four lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the H-1/H-2 Merge and Waimalu/Pearlridge off-ramp (Exit 10) on Tuesday, Sept. 10, through the morning of Friday, Sept. 13, from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for concrete deck repairs. Three lanes will be initially closed at 7 p.m., the fourth lane will close at 8 p.m. The eastbound H-1 Freeway on-ramp from Farrington Highway/Kamehameha Highway will be closed during this time.  

 

17) WAIPAHU TO HALAWA (NIGHT WORK) 

Left shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway possible in either direction, in the vicinity of the Paiwa Street and Kahuapaani Street, on Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. for mechanical sweeping and debris removal. 

 

  

— H-2 FREEWAY — 

1) WAHIAWA (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Alternating single lane closure on the H-2 Freeway in the northbound direction, in the vicinity of Kamehameha Highway and Kahelu Avenue, on Sunday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for installation of permanent striping. Ramps will remain open during this work.  

 

2) WAHIAWA TO MILILANI (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Alternating single lane closure on the H-2 Freeway in the northbound direction, in the vicinity of Kahelu Avenue and Meheula Parkway, on Sunday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for installation of permanent striping. Ramps will remain open during this work.  

 

3) MILILANI (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK) 

Alternating single lane closure on the H-2 Freeway in the northbound direction, in the vicinity of Meheula Parkway, on Sunday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for installation of permanent striping. Ramps will remain open during this work. 

 

  

— H-201 MOANALUA FREEWAY — 

1) HALAWA TO HONOLULU (WEEKEND / NIGHT WORK) 

Two left lanes closed on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of the Halawa Interchange and the Middle Street Overpass, on Sunday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for pavement reconstruction.  

 

2) SALT LAKE 

Right shoulder closure of the H-201 Moanalua Freeway in the southbound direction, in the vicinity of Puuloa Road, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for storm drain cleaning and CCTV inspection. Park Road from Mahiole Street towards Moanalua Community Park to Moanalua Garden will be closed during work hours. 

 

3) FORT SHAFTER 

Right lane closure of the H-201 Moanalua Freeway in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of the Funston Road Overpass, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for storm drain cleaning and CCTV inspection.  

   

  

— H-3 FREEWAY — 

1) KAILUA TO HALAWA (NIGHT WORK) 

Roving shoulder closure on the H-3 Freeway possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kaneohe Marine Core Base and the Halawa Interchange, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for drain inspections and cleaning. 

 

 

2) KAILUA TO KANEOHE 

Alternating single lane closure on the H-3 Freeway possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kaneohe Marine Core Base and Kamehameha Highway, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pavement marking replacement. Five-minute intermittent closures of the left/right shoulder of the on-ramp will be required.    

 

3) KANEOHE TO HALAWA 

Alternating single lane closure on the H-3 Freeway possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kamehameha Highway and the Halawa Interchange, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., for pavement marking replacement. Five-minute intermittent closures of the left/right shoulder of the on-ramp will be required. 

 

4) KANEOHE TO HALAWA  

Roving left shoulder closure on the H-3 Freeway in the Kaneohe bound direction, in the vicinity of Kamehameha Highway and the Halawa Interchange, on Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., for mechanical sweeping and debris removal.  

 

5) KANEOHE TO HALAWA  

Roving right shoulder closure on the H-3 Freeway in the Kaneohe bound direction, in the vicinity of Kamehameha Highway and the Halawa Interchange, on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., for mechanical sweeping and debris removal. 

   

  

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY (ROUTES 93/ 930) — 

1) MAKAHA 

Lane shift on Farrington Highway (Route 93) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Makau Street and Upena Street, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for fencing and striping as part of the Makaha Bridge Replacement Project No.’s 3 & 3A.

Right lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 93) in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of Maipalaoa Bridge, on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for concrete swale work.

Two lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 93) in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of Maipalaoa Bridge, on Friday, Sept. 13 through Saturday, Sept. 14  from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., for work on the concrete pour areas. Traffic will be contraflowed.

 

5) WAIANAE (24-HOUR CLOSURE) 

Right shoulder closure and lane shift on Farrington Highway (Route 93) in the westbound direction in the vicinity of Maipalaoa Bridge, 24-hours a day, seven days a week, for bridge work on Maipalaoa Bridge. 

 

6) KAPOLEI  

Shoulder closure on Farrington Highway (Route 93) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kalaeloa Boulevard (Exit 1/1A), on Monday, Sept. 9, through Thursday, Sept. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., for grass trimming and mowing. 

 

7) WAIALUA 

Right shoulder closure on Farrington Highway (Route 930) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Mahinaai Street, on Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for litter removal. 

  

— KAHEKILI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 83) — 

1) KANEOHE 

Single lane closure on Kahekili Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of the Hygienic Store and Kamehameha Highway, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for the paving and shoulder work as part of the Kahekili Roundabout project. Traffic will be contraflowed. 

  

— KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY (ROUTES 61/72) — 

1) KAILUA 

Single lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in the Kailua-bound direction, in the vicinity of Ulupili Street, and Flamingo Street, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for grass trimming. 

  

2) WAIMANALO 

Right lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) the Kailua-bound direction, in the vicinity of Poalima Street, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for pruning of trees that hang over the sidewalk. 

 

3) PORTLOCK TO HAWAII KAI 

Roving right shoulder closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Lunalilo Home Road and Ainakoa Avenue, on Monday, Sept. 9, and Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., for mehcnical sweeping and debris removal. 

   

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY (ROUTES 80/83/99) — 

1)HALEIWA TO KAHALUU  

Roving shoulder closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Joseph P. Leong Highway and Waihee Road, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 7 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. for tree trimming, litter removal, pothole filling and sign cleaning. 

 

2) HAUULA 

Single lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kawaipuna Place and Imua Place, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for bridge work.  

 

3) HAUULA  

Right lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the northbound direction, in the vicinity of Ikea Loop and Hauula Homestead Road, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for shoulder repair. 

  

4) PUNALUU 

Left lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the southbound direction, in the vicinity of Punaluu Beach Park, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for guardrail removal and replacement. Intermittent closures of the northbound lane may be required, but only one lane will be closed at a time. 

  

5) PUNALUU TO KAAAWA 

Right lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the eastbound direction, in the vicinity of Punaluu Valley Road and Keo Place, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for HECO tree trimming. 

  

6) PUNALUU 

Left lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the southbound direction in the vicinity of Green Valley Road and Punaluu Beach Park, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for guardrail removal and installation. 

  

7) KAHALUU 

Left lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of Nukuwai Place and Waihee Road, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for guardrail removal and installation. 

  

8) KANEOHE TO KAILUA 

Roving shoulder closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of the Halekou Interchange and Pali Highway, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for herbicide treatment under guardrails. 

  

9) KALIHI (24/7 CLOSURE) 

Kamehameha Highway between Middle Street and Laumaka Street will be reduced to one westbound and one eastbound lane 24-hours a day, seven days a week, for The Rail. Other adjustments to the area include: 

No left turns from Kamehameha Highway will be allowed. 

Pedestrian access will be maintained. 

Driveway and business access will be maintained. 

The H-1 eastbound off-ramp to Dillingham Blvd. will be reduced to one lane. Middle Street southbound left turn reduced to single turn lane. 

The sidewalk on the makai side of Dillingham Boulevard between Puuhale Road and Mokauea Street will be closed 24/7 with pedestrians rerouted to the mauka sidewalk.

Up to two lanes closed on Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) in both directions between Center Drive and Kohomua Street on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, over a 24-hour period, for The Rail.

Right lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Joseph P. Leong Highway, on Monday, Sept. 9 thorugh Thursday, Sept. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for tree trimming.  

 

12) HALEIWA TO WAHIAWA  

Right shoulder closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Weed Circle and Nui Avenue, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Thursday, Sept. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for mechanical mowing.  

 

13) HALEIWA TO WAHIAWA  

Right lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Weed Circle and Nui Avenue, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for grass trimming.

Right shoulder closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) in the northbound direction, betweeen mile post 3.7 to 3.8, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for storm drain cleaning and CCTV inspections.

Shoulder closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kamananui Road, on Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for litter removal. 

  

16) WAHIAWA 

Right lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 80) in the southbound direction, in the vicinity of Wilikina Drive, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for drilling of sampling boring holes.  

 

— LIKELIKE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 63) — 

1) KANEOHE 

Single lane closure on Likelike Highway (Route 63) in the westbound direction, in the vicinity of Kahekili Highway, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for repaving work. 

  

2) KANEOHE TO HONOLULU 

Right lane closure on Likelike Highway (Route 63) in the Honolulu-bound direction, in the vicinity of the Wilson Tunnel, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Thursday, Sept. 12, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for tree trimming and scraping. 

  

3) HONOLULU 

Right lane closure on Likelike Highway (Route 63) in the Kaneohe-bound direction, in the vicinity of Valley View Drive, and Wilson Tunnel on Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Sept. 5, from 8 :30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for repair of chain link fence and cattle gate. 

  

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY (ROUTE 92) —

Two lane closure on Nimitz Highway (Route 92) one in each direction, in the vicinity of Kamehameha Highway, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. for forming median barrier wall.

Right lane closure on Nimitz HIghway (Route 92) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Valkenburgh Street and Puuloa Road, on Monday, Sept. 9 thorugh Thursday, Sept. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for patching of spalled concrete columns.

Right lane closure on Nimitz Highway (Route 92) in the eastbound direction between Main Street and Aolele Street on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for The Rail work.

1) KANEOHE 

Left lane closure on Pali Highway (Route 61) in the Honolulu-bound direction, between mile post 7 to 9, in the vicinity of Auloa Road, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for survey work and guardrail inspection/repairs.

Right lane closure on Pali Highway (Route 61) in the Kailua-bound direction, in the vicinity of the Pali Tunnels, on Monday, Sept. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for electrical work in the tunnels.
